Rimmel Moisture Renew & 17 Mirror Shine

I decided to do a mini review of my two favourite lipsticks right now. I have never really worn lipsticks before, but since starting my blog and reading others I've been inspired to try new things. I hate my lips feeling dry or sticky, so I generally void lipglosses and lipsticks and instead go for lipbalm. Sometimes I've worn lipbalms with a little lipcolour under or over it, or a little gloss on top of lipbalm to try and get a bit of colour.. but it never lasts long and I hate reapplying it.

I bought these two beecause of Boots' 3 for 2 offer across their cosmetics.

Rimmel Moisture Renew
Vintage Pink
RRP £4.49

What I liked: I adore the colour. A deep rosy dusky pink that reminds me a bit of Eyeko's Tea Rose polish. It's a tad brighter than I would normally try, bear in mind I normally wear just lipbalm! But I love it. This isn;t as thick in consistency as most lipsticks, but not totally sheer either. It gives a great wash of colour and stays put without drying out my lips. I tend to reapply it 3-4 times a day.... bear in mind I eat like.. 5 times at work and drink water all day.

It's a little darker/deeper in person..

What I didn't like: I'm not massive on the packaging, bit tacky for me.. but I'm not a person who;s big on packaging, I focus on what's in it. It has a bit of an odd smell, but other than that I love this lipstick.

Boots 17 Mirror Shine
Beehive
RRP £4.49

What I liked: This is a gorgeous natural nude pink, it's a little paler than it looks in the pictures and it's SO wearable. But what I loved the most... this is like a heavily pigmented lipbalm. it's not as pigmented as a lipstick, but it has all the shine and moisture of a good lipbalm, but with a strong colour and staying power. I absolutely LOVE this lipstick and have used a massive amount already! This gives a gorgeous flush of nude pink to my lips and is so shiny and moisturising.

You can see here it's a little paler in person.

What I didn't like: Again, the packagaing is a bit rubbish for my tastes, but who cares? I love it.

I did some swatches on my hand, along with Boots 17 Mirror Shine in Nudist Beach, Belle, and Natural Collection Sandcastle that I also bought.

Vintage Pink! Mwah. Love it.

Apply with a lipbrush. It stays on far longer. Use a liner - stops bleeding or feathering. Put foundation on lips first. Make sure they're exfoliated. Use a matte or semi-matte lippie if you don't want to feel gooey.
